Kittyhawk Cafe sits at Scone Aerodrome on Walter Pye Avenue, with a view out over the airport. Inside, the decor and furnishings lean into a nostalgic WWII-era theme, which suits a cafe that shares its name with one of the most famous fighters of the war.
The cafe runs independently of Hunter Warbirds next door, so there's no entry fee to come in. Pull up for a coffee on your way through the Upper Hunter, settle in for breakfast, or grab lunch to take away.

Barista coffee, a choice of teas and a range of cold drinks. Take one to go, or sit down with a view of the airfield.

Fluffy pancakes with strawberries, blueberries and maple, or the full big breakfast: toast, hash brown, sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and grilled tomato.

Open Wednesday to Sunday.
Early starts midweek, a slightly later start on the weekend, and the kitchen winds up at 3pm every day we're open.

Scone is about 300 km north of Sydney and 150 km north-west of Newcastle by road. A good place to break the drive.
